How does it work?

Our Cash Discount program is a program that allows merchants to entice customers to pay with cash and save 3-4% off their purchase price. Signage must be posted in the store that states, "all marked prices have been discounted as cash prices". When customers pay with cash, they will only pay the marked cash prices. When customers pay by credit or debit card, the discounted cash price will be increased by an additional 3-4% which is added to the transaction price when the card is processed.

Cash Discounting

A customer is ready to purchase an item at a store. The item is marked at $10.00. The store has Customer Pricing Notice signage posted: “Our prices include a 4% cash discount. If you are paying by any other method than cash or check, an additional 4% of the marked price will be added to the final purchase price.”

If the customer pays by cash or check, the final price of the item will be as marked $10.00. If the customer decides to pay by credit card, there is no discount, so 4% will be added to the marked price of the item, resulting in the final item price of $10.40.

The cash discount program allows the customer to pay with a credit card, just like prior programs. The difference is they get to choose whether to save by paying with cash, or incur the non-cash adjusted price.

Your total monthly program fee for the Cash Discount Program is maximum $95 per month, regardless of your credit card volume.
